An Awakening: A Fresh Look at What I Thought I Knew

Why do we call Jesus "Jesus?" It's not what most folks think. His name at birth was Jehoshua ben Joseph, which would have been typically shortened to "Joshua." So how did He become "Jesus?" When the stories of His life were first written in Greek, the Greek language has no "sh" sound, so the scribes changed His name to Jesu. What the heck? I at least thought I had the name right! Which makes me wonder, what else is out there that I didn't learn in forty+ years of Bible study? This is my journal of discovery, mostly of things you would have thought an ordained minister already knew.
